See you at ARTish?

This Saturday, September 29th ARTish will be held for the last time.

Just joking! This Saturday is the last time it will be held ouside in the center of Ljubljana. From October until April it will be held indoors in Kina Šiška. It's the last time this year I will be exhibiting and selling my bags. I have been a part of ARTish from June and I need a break. This Saturday will be the last time you can see and buy my bags directly from me. But no worries my Etsy shop will be open 24/7 and you can contact me whenever you like via email
blackbird.bags@gmail.com

I have a few new things to show you. First are short key chains. At first I only made long ones. Long enough to be worn around the neck, but then I was asked if I could make short ones too, so I did. Here they are:

A friend of mine had great idea and it turned out everyone wants one too. What is it? Key chain and a little bag for service card one uses at work. I don't use service card at my day job, but it's practical for Urbana as well.

Christmas will be here before you know it and I made drawstring bags that are wery practical for small gifts. They are very easy to make and if my photographic skills were any good I would make a tutorial for you.
A few members at Etsy Success team mentioned I should also sell pencil cases and a few days lates one of my friends also told me he wants a pencil case. So I made them :)) Those can be used as a cosmetic pouch too.

I have a lot of coin purses. Both zipper coin purses

and very popular metal frame coin purses.
and metal frame clutches, cosmetic pouches, handbags, shoulder bags, cotton shoping bags. A lot more than I can show you in this post. If that didn't give you enough motivation to come and say hi at ARTish, well what if I tell you I will be having a few things as a giveaway? I'm not telling what, come and see ;-)

See you at ARTish?

Wrapping

Apparently Etsians are known for their insipred packaging. I have to agree. I remember when I bought first pair of earings on Etsy, they were so wonderfully packaged! It felt I was getting a gift when I opened the package.

I absolutely  l-o-v-e  wrapping. I think it makes receiving handmade items a bit more special and it tells a lot about the shop. Obviously when I'm selling at Art markets I don't have time to wrap, so I use simple white craft paper bags and thank you tape. But when I sell on Etsy I take more time and effort in wrapping.

White paper bag, washi tape, ribbon and MOO mini card. This package below was sent to Ireland.

What's missing? Oh, yes, thank you card! This package in waiting for Nina to collect it at ARTish.

I also stamped all paper bags with lovely rubber stamp I bought on Etsy. Sorry for terrible photo, but it says Handmade and For you.

Do you like wrapping too? Or receiving everything wrapped? Here are some simple, but very lovely ideas.

I love this one too and I think I'll use it, since I have loads of fabric scraps.

If you'd like more ideas, you must check Etsy blog Packaging Inspirations.

Hi, remember me?

I can't belive it has been over a month since I've blogged! Where am I? What am I doing? I have been asked if I don't craft anymore? To that question I can only say I have more ideas than time. Is that an excuse for not blogging? You be the judge of that.

For tonight that will be all from me, but I promise to be back soon with more great stuff I'd like to share with you! Until next time, have a great time!

Once again at ARTish you could see a lot of lovely stuff from Slovenian artists. Take a tour with me and see what we had to offer:
Earrings,

bags

handmade notebooks

ceramics and other things

Amazing things, don't you think? I had to buy something for myself as well. This lovely turquoise brooch. Beautiful, isn't it?

My stall was right in front of dog friendly hotel :)

I was totally exhausted when I got home at 9PM, but nevertheless it was absolutly fantastic day!

Until next time, have a great week!

Productive week

I haven't been blogging much lately, have I? So, what's happening? Am I

1) dead? No, not yet :)
2) on vacation? Oh, I wish....
3) lazy? Yes, from time to time, especially when it's to hot to think, let along sew.
4) very busy. Yes, that me :)

Since I came back from Spain an brought some really nice fabric, I had to cut into it. I made not one, but three handbags. The one on the top with red embroidery is my favourite one.

A bunch of coin purses and cosmetic pouches in red, baby blue, olive green and purple.

Frame purses.

This and much more will be available for sale on next ARTish on July the 28th.
You can find more photos on my FB page: http://www.facebook.com/blackbird.bags/photos

I have to run now, so much to do. Until next time, have a great time!

Impressions from Valencia

As you might know I made a short trip to Valencia. So much has happened since then, it feels like long time ago. Here are just a few photos from that trip.

I was there during F1 competition, but I didn't feel anything going on, although I could hear the roar of the engines while I was in the park. When there were football matches, well that was totally different story. The streets were absolutely empty, but one could hear cheering from every bar in the city center or apartment building.

You might be asking who's that guy. He was offering free walking tour, so I joined. Everything would be perfect for one small detail. He was Scottish. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Scottish, but his accent!! Half of the time I had no idea what was he talking about.

I didn't come empty handed, oh, no. I bought a pile of fabric from KA International. I would buy more, but there's only one store in Valencia. I was trembling my backpack would be too heavy.

Psst, there's another thing. Tomorrow is my birthday, so I'm offering 10% off on everything in my Etsy shop ;))

Until next time, have a great time!
