Sudoku quilting

Have you ever heard of Sudoku quilting? If you like solving sudoku and quilting, this is the thing for you and it's very fun! You need 81 pieces of quilting fabric, 9 different prints. I bought Central Park by Kate Spain for Moda. First you solve the sudoku, then you number your fabric pack from 1 - 9.

And you make a block regarding you fabric number and sudoku block. The best thing about sudoku quilting is that the pattern is never the same, just like the numbers on sudoku. But you do need to double or triple check before sewing.

This is my sudoku quilt.

This was the easy and the fun part, now comes the hard part: making a quilt sandwich and free moting quilting.

Help needed

This is not an add or anything like it, I need you fellow bloggers to help me out with this quilting problem of mine. Do you remember when I told you about my first quilt?

I was so proud of myself, because I'm a self taught quilter. Making blocks was easy. Then there was a problem of getting batting. When I finally got, I wanted to finish this quilt. I looked at a few youtube tutorials and this is what turned out. I was unable to make so called loops, so I improvised and made waves instead.

This is NOT how a quilt is supposed to look I know that much. I'm obviously doing something wrog, but what? It's all wrinkled. I could just cry....

And this baby quilt was supposed to be a gift! Help me out will you? How can I rescue and finish this quilt? Any kind of help will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

quilt tutorials

I was thinking of making a beginning quilt tutorial, but I have no one to film me and I make horrible photos, so I'm posting one of great tutorials that are already on youtube. The best tutorials are from MissouriQuiltCo. Check it out.

For an absolute begginer I would suggest making straps. The tutorial in called How to "quilt as you go" Try it out, it's realy easy.

quilt

Fist I layered all the fabric

than sewed it together

To make a next step I'll have to take a look at a Youtube for some tutorials. And I have to figure out where to buy batting (the material used in the middle of quilt). There's not a single quilting shop in Slovenia -  at least not that I know of. Any help on where to buy batting would be very welcomed and appreciated.
